The Vallejo
I’ve done some things, and I’ll try to write them down in chronological order though I’ve forgotten many other things in between.
I picnicked in Precita Park, joining in goodbyes to Katie Baker but having my own hellos to people like Corey and Jed and Hannah.
Ryan and I ate delicious food at Grub on Mission one evening, during which I had to reexamine our friendship, his person. The next night we watched Mad Men and fell asleep.
On Friday, I went to Sycamore on Mission with Sandra and Lauren (in town for the Freaker Tour to sell neat knitted coozies across the U.S.) and was struck (though not surprised) by the strength of our conversation and my IPA. I love the boxtruck http://www.freakerusa.com/pages/videos#!prettyPhoto/6/)
Work the next day exhausted me (to be fair, the night before exhausted me and work just happened to interfere with my recovery). But I still accepted the freaker’s request to pick me up and drive to a birthday party- on a boat. Oh, in Sausalito. Sigh.
If driving on the Golden Gate Bridge underneath the fog took my breath away, then the ferry we ended up at could have asphyxiated me. We did not land at a booze cruise as I expected, but the artistic and historical commune of thinkers, creatives, adventurers.. We got out of the box truck and walked into The Vallejo.
